Parashat Ki Tisa: Exodus 30,11-34,35
Haftarah KI Tisa: 1 Kings 18,1-39 (1 Kings 18,20-39)
Parashat Ki Tisah continues with the Divine specifications for the Tabernacle (Mishkan), the priestly vestments, and ointments. It presents us with more insights and guidelines into the ‘Primary Goal’ of the Creator of which YOU are part of, i.e., to dedicate yourself to the God of the Universe and work for His Cause. In this way, you could also be sanctified by Him to become a human Tabernacle in which He will dwell amongst His People in His Universal Kingdom ultimately. You can thus serve as His Light unto the Nations, bringing Universal subjection to the King of Kings (the topic of the current 14 weekly Parshiyot). Refer to ‘The Servant o God’?
What seems to be unveiled from developing insights into this current series of Parshiyot is that not only does it seem that the Divine Intention is to dwell in a Human Tabernacle, His elect serving as that Vessel – but also, that the allegorical interpretation points to these human vessels as simultaneously fulfilling the role of Priest and Levite in the service of the Temple. Presenting in this way, the entire Temple Service to the Nations.
This Projection holds awesome potential for the sincere servants of the G-d of Israel. We have discussed how HaShem will enter into a New Covenant with His Elect at the time of the Final Redemption. This will take place AFTER the Ingathering from Exile and the Peaceful Reconciliation of the 2 striding factions of His Nation (The House of Judah and the House of 10-Israel – ref. New Covenant ). Accordingly HaShem will fully indwell them with His Spirit – His Final Reward to His Elect who are found worthy in the Final Judgment, to empower them to rule with Him in His Universal Kingdom.
As reviewed before, this process will be impelled by the Chen, Chesed and Rachamim (Mercy, compassion, empathy) as reflected by HaShem for ALL of His Creation and His Chosen – via His Spirit indwelling them. As they present their bodies as Vessels for His indwelling Spirit, gradually they will be renewed and formatted in His Image until perfection – when He finally grants them the shortfall where they failed.
Significantly, this week’s Parashah defines the role that the people played in consecrating the Priests and providing the vestments for sanctification of the Priests – NOT HaShem, but the People had to provide it. What a great responsibility!
It is in this respect that some Scriptures have come to our notice in recent days – a controversial topic once more, but…
Look at this:
Psalm 8
ה מָה-אֱנוֹשׁ כִּי-תִזְכְּרֶנּוּ; וּבֶן-אָדָם, כִּי תִפְקְדֶנּוּ. | 5 What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou thinkest of him? |
ו וַתְּחַסְּרֵהוּ מְּעַט, מֵאֱלֹהִים; וְכָבוֹד וְהָדָר תְּעַטְּרֵהוּ. | 6 Yet Thou hast made him but little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
|
Now look at what 40 translations have done with this text: www.biblegateway.com
The Common English version reflects a close to original Hebrew presentation: “You’ve made them only slightly less than divine, crowning them with glory and grandeur.” The Hebrew text uses the word ‘Elohim’ (‘God’)!
Can it be, that HaShem in this way will raise them up from that “slightly lower than ‘Elohim’ status” to fully Elohim status with Him, ruling in His Universal Kingdom?
How do we react to this awesome concept?
It is not in the scope of this commentary to fully reflect the intrinsic Message of our Parashah which is supplemented by the Purim commentaries (celebrated in the same week). Our Web Site presents several selected Commentaries on both the Parashah and Purim which cast light on these dire World conditions facing us today. This Message directs that mankind should repent and restore the ‘Grandeur and Glory’ of the Most High, Who will surely achieve His Purpose with mankind – for His Glory. (READ Ezek. ch. 20!). Suffice it here to explain how many of us are guilty (as portrayed by the metaphor presented in the Purim Reading from the book of Esther, which co-insides with this week’s Parashah).. From this, we see how King Ahospheros who wanted to wipe the Jews out, replaced himself in the eyes of his nation (which at the time included the captive Jews) as the King in place of the G-d of Israel. We see this clearly today in the approach of captive 10-Israel (Ephraim) who have replaced the G-d of Israel with a Torah-rejecting Messiah whom they regard as King ABOVE the G-d of Israel Who is the Most High, King of Kings. Jews should also search their hearts truly, whether they are in need of restoring the Kingship of their G-d, for as a prominent Jerusalem Rabbi recently commented, he “used to see G-d behind the curtains in the Synagogue, but now no longer even there”, replaced by centralized Torah domination, in their zeal to worship Him truly.

Parashat Ki Tisa Exodus 30,11-34,35
Haftarah KI Tisa 1 Kings 18,1-39 (1 Kings 18,20-39)
The world is filled with fear. From Coronavirus to political instability – people’s lives are being turned upside down. In response, like always we look for an escape, for some sort of light beyond that will guide us.
Rebbe Nachman teaches that although in the past all beginnings began with Pesach, now they begin with Purim.
What does this mean?
When [the Israelites] left Egypt, they were a demoralized and spiritually drained nation. The only way they would leave was with miracles injected into the Creation through light that is beyond our reasoning. There was so much light they had no choice but to follow it, nearly rendering their free choice nullified.
{KHT Comment – We are experiencing much the same today as the ancient End Time Redemption Prophecies are unfolding. Ephraim (10-Israel) in ‘Egypt is exposed to unfolding Hebraic Restoration Light as never before. As the momentum is increasing, it is starting to override their free choice against Torah and their opposition to identifying with Judaism, the One True Faith. This Light promises to draw them and mould them into being that Light of HaShem that they, as Living Tabernacles, will shed on all nations to bring Tikkun Olam (spiritual healing of the entire World)].
This sort of relationship with the Creator remained until the Babylonian exile, when something different and necessary occurred.
Purim is all about the light within. From Purim onward, the Redemption is continuous because it flows from the dark spaces within. All of us are intrinsically connected with the Creator. The challenge is that this world is designed to mask this connection.
We try to reach out and yet there is darkness, the light is hidden. The more we search for it, the more the darkness grows – the maze becomes more confusing.
However, G-D left us a way through the maze. The Purim story is that guide. Within the letters and words of the ancient story are the spiritual expressions of Mordechai and Esther. They are hidden within the very words of the Megillah – Scroll of Esther.
What Purim is about is finding ourselves again within the darkness of our world. Esther means hidden. Each one of us has an Esther, a Lost Princess inside that has been hidden away within the darkness of the chaos that surrounds us.
The evil at the end is the fear that we have lost control, but that is precisely when we have an opportunity to discover who we really are. The hidden parts of ourselves are our real selves. [Re-discovering our Lost Identity in Exile].
What Rebbe Nachman means by all beginnings are now from Purim is that our way back is not to run away, but to now embrace the darkness we have in the world and by doing so uncover the light within.
Esther was revealed within the darkest place, and from that place, the Redemption came. Purim is continuous so for us she is still there, waiting to be revealed – to be rescued, but if we are to redeem her we must not fear, the darkness is only in our minds. Within is the Light of the Creator waiting to be unleashed at the most darkest moments.
