Israel has been one of the foremost leading countries in fighting the Corona plague successfully. Facing an increasingly demanding population (and of course the financial ravages on the economy), the first lockdown was released prematurely and somewhat hurriedly. The general reactions, especially amongst the major sector of the public who regard the freedom limiting regulations as exaggerated, was therefore to regard their convictions as true and ignored the continued call for control measures after the return to normality after the first Corona outbreak. Within weeks the pandemic turned around showing its scary reality and we now face far higher numbers of infections. The opposing public side now, like in many other countries, choose a more aggressive protesting response. What is transpiring in Israel now is that the Medical insurance societies demand even stricter control, threatening withdrawal of their sponsoring claims if this does not happen. So, the lockdown and the infection is back with a vengeance.
Corona has unleashed many negative cycles. One such main affect is a cultural war between people – friends, even family members. A great proportion of public opinion has been inflamed by an Internet spread obsession that, far from a pandemic, there really is no great risk and that it is a hidden agenda of the authorities to install dictatorial control and enslavement of people. Most Christians interpret it as the ‘pending installation of “The Mark of the Beast” which they refuse to be part of.
In our weekly Blog commentaries we have from the start had reason to believe that this Plague brought in its wake a much needed shake-out in religious institutions. Places of worship were hardest hit. These conclusions were strengthened by the virtual developments of awesome format which followed. The foundations of Judaism have been shaken over the last few weeks through internet onslaughts against Talmudic Judaism which went viral here in Israel. These accusations and response from some Rabbinic sectors were so horrid that we will even refrain from repeating it here. It certainly has no uplifting spiritual value other than indicating a much needed awakening towards the Final Redemption.
There is a general saying in Israel: “If you haven’t learnt from the lessons of history, it will have to be repeated.” Commensurate with our initial and ongoing conclusion that God is using the after effects of Corona to get a Message through especially to Judah and 10-Israel but also to all of humanity, these latest occurrences which we rather not mention, brought us to conclude that HaShem is “shaking out the Bag of Horrors” that need to be corrected, repented about and then used towards Reconciliation between the two divided sectors of God’s Nation. Tragically, the majority on both sides are not even aware of the need for this vital Reconciliation in order to bring the Final concluding Events of this Dispensation to fruition.
Can it be that the eventual fall out of Corona and the financial after effects will turn so horrid that a masse universal Repentance and recognition of the Creator God of Israel will be called on for Help?
We therefore feature here a Rabbinic commentary of this week’s Parashah which carries much the same Message:
