Meir Elkabas discusses the Torah portion, Parshat Nitzavim, thought the lens of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. Reb Meir discusses how a person must go up and up from level to level in spiritual growth, but in order for us to go up, we have to first have a descent.

He refers to a verse in this week’s parashat:

The hidden things belong to the Lord, our God, but the revealed things apply to us and to our children forever: that we must fulfill all the words of this Torah. (Deut 29,29)

Meir Elkabas uses some words which may not be known for everybody:

• daven – to pray
• shidduch – a Jewish arranged marriage/matchmaking
• parnassa – livelihood
