It may be very controversial to raise a question like this about an omnipotent Almighty God. Many staunch believers in the God of Creation may take serious exception to such an audacious suggestion.
The following consideration though, confirmed by Rabbinic reasoning, will go a long way in promoting Redemption if seriously considered and appropriately acted upon by His People.
This reasoning is based on the foundational concept that HaShem has created us with a FREE Will: To follow Him and His Way or to stubbornly insist on the Way that WE have embarked on, which we defend and justify; the way that WE feel and choose it to be. Because of having imbued us with a FREE Will, He is limited and restricted, even being the Almighty Creator, as to His reactions to world trends and the stubbornness of His People in utilizing their right to a free choice. Human Rulers simply decide on how they want the outcome to be – with horrid results for mankind mostly.
Scripture overflows with examples of this restricting of HaShem with regard to His reacting to the negative conditions that He is faced with daily: Job, the Tisha B’Av event and subsequent results, as we have lately reviewed – and top of the list, the very issue that these days is coming forward so prominently: Restoration and Reconciliation between the two greatly divided Houses of Israel; Judah and 10-Israel, (predominantly New Testament observing Christians who are turning towards Torah observation in a masse phenomenon across the World). The staggering effect of this latter issue, is that there can be NO Final Redemption (Geulah) without this Reconciliation among His People; i.e. without Efraim willing to come Home to their Inheritance and being accepted by Judah (the ‘Prodigal Son’ event). HaShem is waiting on His Family to make Peace with each other and to reunite. This is upholding Geulah. This is restricting HIM! The Resolve is in OUR Hands! Imagine the frustration to Him, the Pain of not being able to accomplish His Goal with human creation!
So, He can do a Noah repeat? In that case God regretted having created humanity because of their general corruptness in utilizing their free will. He subsequently wiped out humanity by a Flood, keeping only Noah and his family. Now READ Ezek. Ch 20 – the most comprehensive review of why He does NOT wipe out the lot after even His elect nation (His covenanted Bride) choosing against His Will and interest. In this chapter He explains why He does withhold total wipe out even though they deserve it. You should then come to realize that YOU and I (Judah and 10-Israel) hold the Resolve in OUR hands, all to prove HIS Honour and righteousness before the World! In ch. 20 of Ezekiel He ex-plains how repeatedly He wanted to wipe them off the face of the earth – but … and then He mentions the reason why He withheld. READ this revealing chapter and find for yourself the reason why He withholds and suffers it out. It is a Key to understanding and conforming to ‘abundant LIFE with Him’.
This reason reveals why He is forced to ‘hanging in there’ and waiting on ‘Good’ to eventually reign. It is over this effect that WE in fact hold the resolve. For Him to prove His Honour to the World before whom He took an oath to see His people through to the End – for them to eventually, out of FREE will, become that ‘Good factor’ which will bring about Redemption. Final Redemption thus hinges on His People’s response – meanwhile He has to withhold His Mighty Power to interfere and resolve matters.
Do you truly think that this does NOT affect Him negatively; frustrate Him?
