Meir Elkabas (Breslov Research Institute) discusses this week’s Torah portion, Parshat Pinchas with insights from Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, who explains that just like Pinchas acted boldly and stood up for Hashem’s honor, we too may have times in our lives where we have to stand up and risk it all for the sake of Hashem. While it’s true that sometimes most of the times we must be yielding, there are indeed some times we must be courageous and act boldly, with self-sacrifice. (Most of the time when we do act rashly, it is out of anger, not out of honoring Hashem.)
