Shalom,
Listen to this haunting Song – which echoes the theme of this week’s Haftarah. Out of many great songs, this was always my most favourite – then this week, I checked the lyrics for the first time. It astounded me when I realized that It reflected the Theme of this week’s Haftarah KI TAVO which I had to prepare a commentary on for this Newsletter. I had to share it with you!
Ki Tavo – When you come (back), return.
God is waiting on the Return of His Bride – to come back (into the Land …).
NOTE – This is not a worship song – it is a very popular commercial song rendered here by the famous artists Nana Moskouri and Julio Eglasius. I take the bold step here, aware of the possible criticism backlash, to use a secular song presentation for conveying probably the most salient sacred Message: the Greatest Sacred Love Story in the Universe; the Love of the Creator for His stray Bride!
I believe God loves music. His beloved King David was a musician and song writer. Live music was featured in the Temple by the resident musicians. Playing a musical instrument is a blessed talent granted by the Creator, as is vocal talent, song writing, and manufacturing of musical instruments.
Music is a creative art and divine blessing. I was blessed to be a professional musician for two decades of my young life – without God in my life at the time. As a top musician, it laid the gay life at my feet – in all its carnal glory. A serious illness however brought me before the Creator – and I pledged to follow Him where He would lead. I thank Him for that blessed privilege to have shared in His creation.
Music has 12 Notes only (in Western culture). “12” signifies ‘completeness’ in the Bible. The 12 Tribes of Israel; represented on the High Priest’s Breast plate by the 12 stones. With those 12 notes only, multi millions of different songs have been created throughout the World through the ages. Unbelievable!
Music calms the soul, brings Peace of mind, is the language of Love, and glorifies God. It is in that spirit that I share this song with you, my most favourite – and I now realize also, it echoes the Call of the Creator to His Beloved – The Greatest Love Story in the World! The Return of His Beloved. The Main Theme of Prophecy – and it may very well be the Main Purpose underlying the Creator’s Act of Creating Mankind! The Reconciliation and Restoration of the 12-Tribed Kingdom of the God of Israel!
Haftarah Ki Tavo (Isaiah 60) features the culmination of the 9 chapters of Isaiah (40-49) in which He defines His Servant whom He is creating, the “One like the Son of Man Coming on the Cloud” (Daniel chapter 7), the one who will be worshipped by the nations (Daniel 7;14,27), that is the Body of overcoming Saints who, in the Final Judgment, will be sealed under a New Covenant, to receive a full imbuement of the Spirit of HaShem, to become Living Torahs, the Living Temple in which HaShem will “live amongst His People” to rule over the Nations. This will become “The New Jerusalem”, as emphasized in Haftarah Ki Tavo.
“I know you will Return, My Love” The original lyrics are available in English on Google Search.
“Se que Volverase”
It echoes God’s Love Call as featured in
this week’s Haftarah – Ki Tavo (When you shall Come back)
Lyrics of the Chorus:
“I know you will come back, My Love
I know you will come back, My Love
I know you will come back, I know
I love you beside Me”
Be sure to feast on the wider Parashat Message of Ki Tavo for this week, as we are approaching the 7th Month Biblical Feast Cycle – the Time for the upcoming Royal Wedding – From our Parashat Library of selected commentaries featuring this Return.

Wishing you HaShem’s richest Blessings!
