Shalom [subscriber:firstname | default:dear friend],

The recent (July 2021) Tisha b’Av commemoration of the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple brought some amazing statements into the fore. This turned the spotlight once more onto that historic piece of real estate (the Temple Mount) which has an explosive pivotal effect on prospects for Middle East Peace and hence for the entire World. It also is pivotal to the Promises proclaimed in the Bible with regard to the Creator’s Goal for mankind.

Bear in mind that the destruction of two Temples, some 5 centuries apart, occurred on the same calendar date of the year. It was the fulfilment of a Curse that God executed on the Israel nation for their lack of determination to take possession of the Land that God was leading them to for Blessings and prosperity. We are today still facing the effects of our punishment for that lack of integrity.

While Jewish Israel has now returned from the four corners of the Earth where they have been facing 2000 years of persecution, they are still facing a future with many questions. The Temple Mount with its current claims of disputed ownership needs to be unraveled without blowing up the World – for which it truly has the potential.

In Jerusalem this week, the Arabic Ra’am Party, which is now part of Israel’s current governing coalition, has thrown tantrums when on Tisha b’Av Jews insisted to pray on the most Sacred spot where two Temples stood for centuries. Ra’am claimed that “the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on its 144 dunams, is solely the property of Muslims, and no one else has any right to it.” (Read the full report here: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2021/07/israel-islamic-party-says-temple-mount-is-solely-the-property-of-muslims-and-no-one-else-has-any-right-to-it)

A Facebook post appealed for petitioning that the Temple Mount be opened for all faiths. As a Scriptural claim it posted a graphic quote from Isaiah 56:7 “… for My House shall be called a House of prayer for all peoples.”

This quote opened interesting discussions regarding who will be allowed to worship at the Future Temple in the Time that this Scripture quote refers to, i.e. popularly called “The Messianic Time”.

A strongly worded Jewish response to this post reflected a common concept held by major sections in religious Judaism:
"It is NOT a house for all religions. It is for Jews and Noahides who pray to G-d of Avraham. In the near future, during the Days of Mashiach, all mankind will be Noahide (with the exception being Jews). The 3rd Temple is not to accommodate prayer to Jesus or the alien gods of Islam, Hinduism or Buddhism. A base misunderstanding."

A valid response may be:

“Isa. 56:7 which we are discussing here specifies HaShem's acceptance of ‘kol Ha'Amim’ - ALL the nations. In fact, by just reading the entire verse 7, in context with verse 6, this Divine universal concern for all nations is even more clearly confirmed: 6"Also the aliens, (Gerim) that join themselves to Hashem, to minister unto Him, and to love the Name of Hashem, to be His servants, every one [incl. Gerim] that keepeth the Sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast by My Covenant: 7 EVEN THEM will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon Mine altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.".

In fact, the spirit underlying the contents of this entire chapter 56 of Isaiah nullify the discriminatory interpretation as expressed here above. Furthermore, the Spirit underlying the entire Scriptural Message, the ultimate Plan of HaShem for mankind, for His children, of whom He regards Himself as their loving Father, this Spirit reflects that same universal concern. Now please do not interpret that as "all saved" easy going. Quite the contrary. What applies to us Jews, applies to all humans out there. HaShem alone holds the Final Judgment.

While the emphasis of this writing will be regarded by many as a suggestion to dilute pure Judaism and to bring pagan idol worship into the Temple, it is rather a timely appeal for Judaism to open its heart and doors for all mankind to share their Treasure of the One only True Faith. Unfortunately, the persecution of Jews for their Faith has driven Judaism into a self protection mode of hoarding the universal Torah requirements of the Creator for "Jews only."

This week’s Parashat commentary (refer the link to the KOL HATOR library here below) emphasizes the Divine Purpose behind HaShem’s election of the Nation of Israel, viz. Israel’s mission is to serve as a testimony to the other nations of the Creator’s Will for mankind.

Surely, this places a major responsibility on the nation of Israel to share their Torah wisdom with the nations - not to claim it as a sole right and responsibility for “Jews only”. This underlies the Spirit of universal concern for all mankind – which is why the Future Temple of HaShem will be “A House of Prayer for all nations.”
Wishing you HaShem’s richest Blessings!
